Career Break Opportunities

Many  people come to a point in their lives when they might want to take a career break. They may look for a change or find that they look for a life more meaningful, than their present situation. Camphill can really benefit from people that bring life experience, a certain maturity and idealism. Talk to us regarding different opportunities, that exist.

We are particularly interested to hear from people with relavant or transferable experiences, such as social care, social work, farming, horticulture, crafts or other experience. Our communities will assist with training, supervision and mentoring to ensure that the new experience is a positive one.

Short Term Co-Worker From 15 May 2019

We presently have vacancies for enthusiastic Co-workers who are willing to join our vibrant team and life-share in one of our households. We would expect at least a one-year commitment starting from August each year. As a member of our community, you will live in one of our houses and play a full and active part in the life of our community. As a Co-worker, your main task will be to support and befriend adults with a disability and help them access a wide range of leisure and work activities. Some residents will need support with their day-to-day needs & enable them to lead an active and integrated life. The setting at Jerpoint is rural with close proximity to the local town of Thomastown. The community is based in a local neighborhood amongst extensive vegetable gardens, a small farm with craft and food workshops. There is a close link with the local community and activities are availed of around Thomastown and Kilkenny. You will receive a full induction and the necessary training to fulfill your responsibilities in a competent manner. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience something different for empathetic, caring and motivated individuals, with an interest in social care. This experience may be a little challenging at times but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. 3 Volunteer position available in Camphill Community Kyle From 27 May 2019

Camphill Community Kyle provides residential care adults with varying levels of ability. Kyle is located in the South East and is a land based community. We provide care to 16 adults and support people in their daily life in the community and in workshops, on holidays and with attending culural and leisure activity. Volunteers are an essential part of our community. We are looking for enthusiastic ,motivated  and creative volunteers to join us for a min of 10 months. Camphill Community Grangemockler is looking for a number of enthusiastic individuals to come and volunteer in our Community. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year.

We are looking for persons with a keen interest in biodynamic farming and/or gardening to assist with day to day maintenance tasks, care of animals, and future development of our small but expanding farm.  This role also encompasses working with a diverse team of people, many with intellectual disabilities, and some experience in this area would be an advantage. A successful candidate will be flexible, be able to work under their own initiative and enjoy working outdoors.  Training opportunities in biodynamic farming may be available as part of this position Please contact us for further details.

1 Lifesharing Live-In Junior coworker From 01 Sep 2019

We are interested to hear from enthusiastic young men and women who would like to spend a year sharing our community life in a small town near Kilkenny. Starting date is flexible April/May. Volunteers will join a house community supporting adults with a variey of needs. Some of those we support have high needs, including physical / intimate care and constant supervision. Others live in their own accommondation and need friends visiting regularly to support them as they manage their own lives. Our life is challenging for all, and very rewarding for those who engage and participate fully. Good English is essential, and it helps if you bring energy, initiative and humour!
