Volunteers form the backbone of many of our communities and such experiences can be hugely rewarding. Maybe it is something you are interested in. Being a volunteer does require enthusiasm and perseverance. Many volunteers come from abroad and Have a look at Residential Volunteering Opportunities in one of our community households.

3 Lifesharing Live-In Camphill Kyle is looking for Live -in Volunteers startinin August From 20 Jan 2018

We are looking for  enthusiastic people to volunteer with us at Camphill Kyle for 10-12 months starting in January/February  2018. 

Kyle is a rural life-sharing community in the sunny South East, just outside Callan and about 15 km away from Kilkenny. 

We are looking for volunteers to help support our residents throughout their daily life , on outings and in workshops. We are looking for people who are open and willing to engage in festivals as well as have an interest in social care  , arts , farm and garden . 

Good written and spoken english  , a caring character and a sense of commitment is essential.

2 Female Co-worker (residential volunteer) From 22 Jan 2018

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who can stay with us for at least one year.

Your work and life involve supporting people with/without intellectual disabilities in house communities and workshops by working together.

Excellent English is essential and good sense of humor and communication skills will be important. It is also important to have willingness to work and cooperate closely with people who have chosen to live and work in Camphill and willingness to learn and accept something different from what you have known. 

We will offer you an introductory training as well as mandatory trainings such as manual handling, fire extinguisher training.

This work and life are challenging but rewarding. If you want to develop yourself and experience something totally different from what you have experienced, this is the place for you.

We are offering one placement for a motivated young woman who is interested in care work and wishes to experience our life-sharing community spread over a small seaside village. You will join one of our three small house communities, where you share responsibilities with two other volunteers from many different countries. Each household is guided by house-coordinators and offers a home to up to three residents with disabilities. Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden, a basket-workshop, a felt workshop and a small coffee-shop all of which have vacancies arising in the near future. Good English is essential, craft skills are welcome but full training will be given. Sign language is part of our ongoing training. Preference is given to those who can commit for the full year and who are 21 years or over.

1 Care support worker From 01 Feb 2018

We are offering a placement for one young man, who wishes to experience our life-sharing community spread over a small seaside village. Your home will be one of our three small houseswhere you share responsibilities with two other volunteers from many different countries. Each household is guided by house-coordinators.  As a member of a team you will support two persons with varying levels of independence.

Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden, a basket-workshop, a textile workshop and a small coffee-shop all of which have vacancies arising in the near future. Good English is essential, craft skills are welcome but full training will be given. Sign language is part of our ongoing training. Preference is given to those who can commit for the full year and who are 21 years or over.


You will learn to use sign language to communicate with others.

?We are specifically looking for volunteers with experience or a strong interest in working on our farm to assist the farm manager which will potentially involve working unsociable hours compared with the other workshops.
 
A keen interest in adults with special needs is required. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. Full training and induction into the role will be provided as well as mandatory external training. We look forward to hearing from you.
 
 
On the farm, we have milking cows, sucklers, followers, pigs, sheep, and chicken. We also grow potatoes and fodder crops. The garden produces fruit and vegetables for the community and also looks after the orchard.

1 SHORT TERM CO-WORKER From 01 Mar 2018

We are looking for Volunteers who are motivated, enthusiastic and responsible to join our life sharing community, live and work alongside adults with special needs. The role involves living in a household in the community together with (young) adults with special needs. You will join one of our house communities, where you share responsibilities with other volunteers. You will be working and living very closely not only with our special needs people,  but also with our other volunteers. The start date is early September It would be an advantage if you would have a drivers license with at least 2 years driving experience. Although we prefer applicants who are 20 years or older and can make a commitment for at least one year, it is not a specific requirement and for the right candidate, we can be flexible! 1 short-term volunteer/shop-keeper From 01 Jun 2018

We are offering one Short-term placement for a motivated young person who wishes to take a central role in our small craft and coffee shop whilst experiencing our life-sharing community spread over a small seaside village.

This vacancy is for the summer months in particular with the option of extending your stay if wanted.

You should have an poitgoing friendly personality with an interest in others and a preference for a lifestyle favouring organic produce. Good spoken English is essential.  Preference is given to those who are 21 years or over.

Your task will be to become a central part of the coffee-shop team, and you will be serving customers from 10am to lunchtime five days a week. Barrista training will be given as well as training to order supplies and look after all aspects of the running of the shop. 

You will join one of our three house communities, where you share responsibilities with the other volunteers. Like all the other households in the community your home will be guided by a house-coordinator. She will train you to support a resident on her path towards independent supported living. Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden,a basket-workshop, a felt workshop and a small coffee-shop and volunteers from all over the world join us to support the residents with disabilities in our community.
