We are looking for motivated, energetic and responsible volunteers interested in joining our life sharing community to live and work alongside adults with special needs. You will join a vibrant young team of about 20-25 young adults from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. English language is a key requirement. Full training and induction into the role will be provided as well as mandatory external training. We look forward to hearing from you.
Qualifications: Good level of English (essential). Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Previous experience in Camphill (very good but not essential). We'll provide training for this task.
We need caring, enthusiastic and organized people who are able to help take care of the house, residents and also join our workshops.

Depending on your skills and interests, volunteers will generally be asked to assist our residents with their daily workshops (either garden, farm, weavery, pottery, cooking or cleaning) all of which are on site. If you have a special skill that you want to come and share then that is welcome too.
Or if what you can offer is to sit and have a cup of tea with one of our residents once a week then that is great too. Friendship for our residents is what benefits them most so if you have an hour to go for a walk on a summer evening, do small crafts or a morning when you could help at the workshops or feed the chickens then we want to hear from you!

The interested volunteer needs to be cheerful, patient and enjoy working in a team environment and also have an interest in working with adults with intellectual disabilities. A good level of English is also required.
Social Care Worker

Duration 1 year Contract
Key Requirements, Attributes and Qualifications for employees of Duffcarrig Community:
· Excellent communication, people management and problem solving skills, empathy and sensitivity to others.
· The ability to work collaboratively and motivate a team to enthusiastically support individuals
· Energy and enthusiasm, be highly motivated, reliable and have a flexible approach to working hours
· Good planning and time management skills
· An openness to the Camphill Ethos and alternative models of Social Care
· An Understanding of HIQA Standards, Regulations, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Duty of Care
· Work experience in a related area such as personal assistant/carer, community development or social care and/or community regeneration
· Experience in supporting people that display challenging behaviour
For the Social Care Worker position, a minimum of level 7 (Third Level) qualification in Social Care is required.
Rates of pay:
Social Care Worker: 13.50 per hour (9.55 sleepover rate)
