Volunteers form the backbone of many of our communities and such experiences can be hugely rewarding. Maybe it is something you are interested in. Being a volunteer does require enthusiasm and perseverance. Many volunteers come from abroad.

2 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Volunteers for 12 months From 01 Mar 2023

Camphill Community Kyle is a small sized community in the South east of Ireland , County Kilkenny.  Kyle is land-based and a residential facility for 16 adults with various support needs. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have an interest in community life and in supporting individuals throughout their daily life. Kyle has a team of health care proffessionals who together with volunteers create a healthy and friendly environment. Kyle has a small farm and  garden as well as craft workshops and training programmes on-site. Some activity like hydrotherapy, swimming, outdoor pursuit or educational programmes like woodwork and art education programmes are off site. Volunteers live in the same house as the residents.

We provide induction and training to all successful applicants for the volunteer positions. 

We would like that our volunteers will stay for a period of 12 months in the Community

 

 

 


There's no qualification required for a volunteer position, however good written and spoken English skills are required. Applicants should be enthusiatic, sociable, enjoy spending time with others and be able to work as part of a team.  FFor non EU nationals - please be aware that a Preclearance authorisation and or Visa needs to be applied for from the Irish Department of Justice, perparation and application process can take 5 - 6 months or more.

1 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Volunteers From 15 Mar 2023

We are looking for motivated, energetic and responsible volunteers interested in joining our life sharing community to live and work alongside adults with support needs.

You will join a vibrant young team of about 8 young adults between the ages of 18-24 from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year.

A keen interest in adults with special needs is required. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. English language is a key requirement. Full training and induction into the role will be provided as well as mandatory external training. Reflective supervision is provided on a one to one basis at regular intervals. Previous personal or professional experience engaging with individuals with an Intellectual Disability will also be considered an advantage.

4 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Volunteers From 01 Aug 2023

We are interested to hear from enthusiastic young men and women who would like to spend a year sharing our community life in a small town near Kilkenny. Volunteers will join a house community supporting adults with a variey of needs. Some of those we support have high needs and need constant supervision. Others live in their own accommondation and need friends visiting regularly to support them as they manage their own lives. Our life is challenging for all, and very rewarding for those who engage and participate fully. Good English is essential, and it helps if you bring energy, initiative and humour!

Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Co-Worker From 01 Aug 2023

We presently have vacancies for enthusiastic Co-workers who are willing to join our vibrant team and life-share in one of our households. We would like a one-year commitment starting from August/September each year. As a member of our community, you will live in one of our houses and play a full and active part in the life of our community. As a volunteer, your main task will be to support and befriend adults with a disability and help them access a wide range of leisure and work activities. Some residents will need support with their day-to-day needs to enable them to lead an active and integrated life. The setting at Jerpoint is rural with close proximity to the local town of Thomastown. The community is based in a local neighborhood amongst extensive vegetable gardens, a small farm with craft and food workshops. There is a close link with the local community and activities are availed of around Thomastown and Kilkenny. You will receive a full induction and the necessary training to fulfill your responsibilities in a competent manner. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience something different for empathetic, caring and motivated individuals, with an interest in social care. This experience may be a little challenging at times but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. We are looking for an enthusiastic and mature male and female co-worker who can stay with us for one year. 

You will be supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as supporting others in the organisation. 

Good English is essential and good sense of humor and communication skills will be important. It is also important to have willingness to work and cooperate closely with people who have chosen to live and work in Camphill and willingness to learn and accept something different from what you have known. 

This work and life are challenging but rewarding. If you want to develop yourself and experience something totally different from what you have experienced, this is the place for you.
