Our Projects
Accessibility of our Spaces
An ongoing project in Camphill Duffcarrig is to improve the accessibility of our houses and workshops. Up until a few years ago most of our paths were gravel with only one or two paved areas. Over the past ten years and in particular in the past 5 we have focussed on upgrading paths to hard surfaces to make it easier for those with impaired mobility to access all parts of the community. In the past 5 years this work has included taking up and re-laying the main path from our Hall to the houses, replacing the decaying pavers to St John's House with concrete, paving and concreting all the way around our Hall, concreting the front of Duffcarrig House, all around Brigid House and to the front entrance of Cloonagh House. All work has included ramping up to access doors to eliminate steps where possible.
We hope to continue this work by adding a concrete path where there is currently a dirt/gravel path to Clarach House which is the place where our activity group for the active retired takes place.
