Short Term Volunteer Vacancies
Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Co-Worker From 01 Aug 2023
We presently have vacancies for enthusiastic Co-workers who are willing to join our vibrant team and life-share in one of our households. We would like a one-year commitment starting from August/September each year. As a member of our community, you will live in one of our houses and play a full and active part in the life of our community. As a volunteer, your main task will be to support and befriend adults with a disability and help them access a wide range of leisure and work activities. Some residents will need support with their day-to-day needs to enable them to lead an active and integrated life. The setting at Jerpoint is rural with close proximity to the local town of Thomastown. The community is based in a local neighborhood amongst extensive vegetable gardens, a small farm with craft and food workshops. You will receive a full induction and the necessary training to fulfill your responsibilities in a competent manner. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience something different for empathetic, caring and motivated individuals, with an interest in social care. This experience may be a little challenging at times but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding.
