Social Care Work Experience Vacancies

2 Short term Volunteer From 16 Jan 2022

We are looking for motivated, energetic and responsible volunteers interested in joining our life sharing community spread over a small seaside village. You will join one of our three small house communities, to live and work alongside adults with special needs and other volunteers from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with support needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. Some of the work will be in the Wexford day service programme.

Each household is guided by house-coordinators and offers a home to up to three residents with disabilities. 

This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. In the Dunshane Community we always welcome volunteers to join our team of staff and volunteers. We are looking for interested volunteers live and work with the community members with support needs, to help us with befriending, farming, gardening and in our cooking, candle workshop, basketry workshop, bakery or pottery workshop. An understanding and interest in disability is required. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have the ability to work alongside our adults, staff and volunteerss while meeting developmental goals. We are interested to hear from enthusiastic young men and women who would like to spend a year sharing our community life in a small town near Kilkenny. Volunteers will join a house community supporting adults with a variey of needs. Some of those we support have high needs and need constant supervision. Others live in their own accommondation and need friends visiting regularly to support them as they manage their own lives. Our life is challenging for all, and very rewarding for those who engage and participate fully. Good English is essential, and it helps if you bring energy, initiative and humour! Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Co-Worker From 15 Aug 2022

We presently have vacancies for enthusiastic Co-workers who are willing to join our vibrant team and life-share in one of our households. We would like a one-year commitment starting from August/September each year. As a member of our community, you will live in one of our houses and play a full and active part in the life of our community. As a volunteer, your main task will be to support and befriend adults with a disability and help them access a wide range of leisure and work activities. Some residents will need support with their day-to-day needs to enable them to lead an active and integrated life. The setting at Jerpoint is rural with close proximity to the local town of Thomastown. The community is based in a local neighborhood amongst extensive vegetable gardens, a small farm with craft and food workshops. There is a close link with the local community and activities are availed of around Thomastown and Kilkenny. You will receive a full induction and the necessary training to fulfill your responsibilities in a competent manner. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience something different for empathetic, caring and motivated individuals, with an interest in social care. This experience may be a little challenging at times but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. Camphill Dingle is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and responsible volunteers with an interest in Socialcare work and Social Pedagogic activities, also experience in Crafts, Music, organic farm and garden work and outdoor activities will add a great benefit to our Residential and Day Service.

Accommodation is sharing a small house with other volunteers and you will be volunteering 40 hours/week not more than 12 hours a day at different times during the day and evening and required to sleep up to 2 nights in the residential house to provide emergancy night time fire evacuation support when required.

4 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Volunteers From 01 Sep 2022

Camphill Community Kyle is a small sized community in the South east of Ireland , County Kilkenny.  Kyle is land-based and a residential facility for 16 adults with various support needs. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have an interest in community life and in supporting individuals throughout their daily life. Kyle has a team of health care proffessionals who together with volunteers create a healthy and friendly environment. Kyle has a small farm and  garden as well as craft workshops and training programmes on-site. Some activity like hydrotherapy, swimming, outdoor pursuit or educational programmes like woodwork and art education programmes are off site. Volunteers live in the same house as the residents.

We provide induction and training to all successful applicants for the volunteer positions. 

We would like that our volunteers will stay for a period of 12 months in the Community

 

 

 


There's no qualification required for a volunteer position, however good written and spoken English skills are required. Applicants should be enthusiatic, sociable, enjoy spending time with others and be able to work as part of a team.
